Preparing students for the profession of teachers of the Russian language (second foreign language) in high school. Description of the author’s research

Abstract

Monitoring the process of preparation for the teaching profession by exploring different areas of student activity helps to eliminate errors and improve the quality of education at universities. One such area is individual teaching practice. The purpose of this article is to show the results if the analysis of the assessment of students individual teaching practice on the lesson of the Russian language (second foreign language) in high schools. 90 opinions of teachers were analyzed on practices held by the students of Russian Philology. The study showed that students, in the opinion of teachers, are prepared to work in school (e.g. they use a variety of methods and ways of teaching the language, make the best use of time during the lessons, take care of establishing good contact with young people). Document analysis also revealed that some areas concerning preparation of students for careers in high schools need to be refined and taken into account within the implemented practices.
