Abstract

The objective of the article is a preliminary recognition of auto/ bio/geo/graphy as a special type of an autobiographic or biographic account. Its constitutive attribute is reference to geographic determinants of life trajectories, particularly autobiographic places (a term proposed by Małgorzata Czermińska). In autonarratives they fulfill a causative function, activating autobiographic memory and physical memory. Problems of connections of autobiography and geography was described on the basis of world literature (e.g. J.M. Coetzee) and Stefan Szymutko’s prose.
