The article focuses on the local narratives of the Podlasie region as represented by Edward Redliński, Sokrat Janowicz, Michał Androsiuk, Jan Kamiński and Ignacy Karpowicz. The author presents the transformations of tendencies in the Podlasie prose of the latest half-century, from the poetics of sociological document to the poetics of grotesque and magical realism, interpreting these transformations as characteristic of new regionalismKeywords:
