Literary Physiognomies of Vilnius from the Times of Kraszewski with Lithuania in the Background. A Survey of the Subject in the Light of Newest Research

Abstract

The article has the character of a survey. It covers the work of historians of literature who devote their research to the subject of Vilnius and its topography in the works by Kraszewski (Inesa Szulska, Tadeusz Bujnicki, Iwona Węgrzyn, Ewa Owczarz), published in the years 2009-2011. The survey ends with an analysis of the 'Vilnius' chapter of 'Obrazy litewskie' by Ignacy Chodźka (the memories from 1840-1850 in the new edition edited by Monika Stankiewicz-Kopeć).
