PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Each contribution to Białostockie Studia Literaturoznawcze is first deemed appropriate by the editorial board. The editors will reject submissions that are beyond the thematic scope of BSL or do not meet scholarly standards.
Editors and editorial team members are excluded from publication decisions when they are authors or have contributed to a manuscript.
Submissions accepted by the editors are further evaluated through double blind review by two independent referees affiliated with different institutions than the authors.
Reviews are anonymous, and the identity of reviewers is not given away to the contributors whether the paper has been accepted for publication or rejected.
A reviewer signs the conflict of interest statement.
The review is written (the evaluation sheet is available to the reviewer after logging in) and contains a final decision of acceptance (a. in the present form, b. after making the suggested changes, c. after making the suggested changes and the reviewer’s approval) or rejection.
If the article is qualified for publication with suggested changes, they are given to the author by the editors. The reader’s identity remains anonymous.
In cases of contradictory reviews, a submission will be sent to a third expert reader, whose decision will be conclusive.
The review process usually takes up to 12 weeks. The average number of weeks between submission and publication is 26 weeks.
The list of reviewers collaborating with Białostockie Studia Literaturoznawcze is available at the journal’s website.
