Stereotyp Araba w świetle badań ankietowych

Abstrakt
The article touches upon ethnic stereotypes problem. The subject of the
contemplation is the Arab stereotype in view of polling research conducted
among 100 students of the University of Lodz (the Chamber of Journalism and
Social Communication). The research results show that the knowledge of Arabic
society is poor and partial. The students mainly paid attention to the basic
attributes like looks, characteristic facial features, peculiar clothing, and religious
differences. There were also many negative opinions and antipathy arising from
lack of familiarity with this culture, which is relatively remote to the Poles in
geographical sense.
