The term babka 'plantago' and its Slavonic equivalents

Abstract

Taking into consideration Ogólnosłowiańskii atlas językowy /Slavonic linguistic atlas/ as a basis for her analysis, the author presents geographical scopes, frequency and lexical, semantic and word-formation collocations of the etymologically Polish name for the plant babka, Latin plantago, in a descriptive and tabular approach set against a broad Slavonic background.
